Variant Trucking (through Rural Sourcing)

Client

Variant Trucking is driver-focused trucking company improving the lives of truck drivers through technology and a driver-first approach.

Challenge

Truck drivers face long hours, strict regulations, and stressful conditions that sometimes prevent them from returning home for long stretches. Variant wanted to create a dashboard so drivers could manage and view their own schedules, to help ease some stress.

Scope

Create the design and flow for the dashboard and scheduling calendar that made it easy for truck drivers to access and make adjustments to their schedules on desktop and mobile solutions.

Role

I was the UI/UX Designer, involved in every aspect of design: process learning sessions with the client, hi-fidelity mockup and prototype creation, and spec handoff to devs.

Result

The client was so satisfied with my design speed and quality that within the first month of working with them, they ended the contract of the other freelance designer, determining that I met all of their design due dates with high quality deliverables. The position led to two contract extensions of my position for Rural Sourcing.
