Engineering Unleashed (through Rural Sourcing)

Client

Engineering Unleashed is a website supporting a collaborative network of universities and educators dedicated to instilling an entrepreneurial mindset in engineering students.

Challenge

Engineering Unleashed had received feedback that their search functionality and user dashboard did not meet the needs of the students and faculty contributors.

Scope

Redesign the user dashboard to be the launch point of navigation to favorites, help documents, recommended connections, profile status, and suggested content by improving function discovery through better layout and section design. Also, redesign search filtering and results options to make contributor content easier and quicker to find.

Role

I was the UI/UX Designer, involved in every aspect of design: client interviews and process learning sessions, quick wireframe creation for initial client approval, hi-fidelity mockup and prototype creation, and spec handoff to devs.

Result

Design work received a client "rave"—a special recognition given from the client to Rural Sourcing management that was then announced via the company news letter—and a contract extension of my position for Rural Sourcing.
